I used to count down the days until summer was over, but the last few years I have been sad to say goodbye to warm weather, long days and late evening adventures.
The last month of summer was a good one.
After four years of throwing all our extra money at the house, we were able to pay it off at the beginning of this month! I still can’t believe he is completely ours.
We took our yearly beach trip and had way too much fun. We were there for a whole week but it didn’t feel long enough. I want to go back.
I have been working on sewing a dress from scratch. I will wear it on Halloween!
Many late August evenings were spent exploring. Much of the city is getting renovated and I want to make sure I capture how it once was, before it becomes recognizably new.
August was once my least favorite month, now I have grown to like it quite a bit. I try to squeeze every last bit of summer out before September brings the autumn weather. I am looking forward to the seasons changing, I have found myself staring at all my sweaters in the back of the closet; excited to start wearing them in just a few weeks time.
Celebrated our five year anniversary with all the sushi you can imagine.
Got some film in the mail that I can’t wait to use! I really want to start using film a lot more, but I am afraid of wasting film so I am always hesitant to use it.
Went to the beach and wanted to stay there forever.
Finally got to try Turkish Coffee while at the beach and loved it. So far I have yet to find a place near me that sells it.
Had the first pumpkin beer of the season and I can’t wait to sample all the different varieties I can get my hands on.
Got a total of three gourds from my garden and probably won’t get anymore. (Melon worms are an eviiiilll thing!)
Turned my Japanese Maple into three bonsais! More on this later..
I think I made the most of summer’s last month. For once I am little sad to say goodbye to the warm weather, but I am definitely looking forward to autumn. I am excited to break out my fall outfits, wear gloves and scarves, and I can’t wait to plan plenty of fall activities to make the most out of this glorious season!
Did everybody have a good August?
I can’t believe how fast August flew by! August always used to feel like the longest and most boring month for me but this year it was pretty good.
August first was our four year anniversary, which is also our four year anniversary of trying sushi! So every year we go a Japanese restaurant and get sushi 🙂
We have been eating lots of veggie dishes with the vegetables from our garden.
My favorite part of August was going to the beach! Those are some photos I took with my land camera.
The cats did NOT want us to leave!
I found so many sand dollars at sand dollar island!
Sorting out my mini shells. I think I’m going to make some resin things with them 🙂
I found a french Harry Potter book at my favorite used bookstore! Hopefully one day I can read it, haha.
I started a new kitting project and Jeeves thought I choose the best possible colors for it. It’s going to be a big blanket! Hopefully I will finish it before winter is over..
Cosmo is all grown up and has a baby now!!! They like to hop around my backyard together.
And of course it’s not summer without a couple of good root beer floats!
It’s kind of weird because this is the first time that I have not been so sick of summer by this point! I am still enjoying the warm weather, wearing shorts, and the long daylight hours. But I’m sure once the weather starts getting cooler and the leaves start turning then I’ll get into fall mode. Maybe I should light some pumpkin spice candles!
