Tumbleweed

He flew out of a city truck going down the road. At first glance, it looked like a trash bag.

But it was a tiny kitten that tumbled down the road through the early morning traffic. He had climbed into the engine of the truck to keep warm.

His name was Tumbleweed.

Tumbleweed needed to be bottle fed since he hadn’t learned how to eat regular food yet.

He also enjoyed homemade meat soup..

He was a feral little guy, but the yummy food that was hand fed to him made him less nervous.

He was going to stay on the enclosed back porch that night, so the other cats wouldn’t freak out like they did last time they saw a different cat. But the thought of him out there was too sad, so inside he came!

He was afraid of every new sound he heard. He was also afraid if he was looked at for more than a few seconds.

A visit to the vet showed that he was healthy, except for a few intestinal parasites, and only around six weeks old.

We liked him too much to put up for adoption. Tumbleweed was here to stay! Hopefully his big brothers wouldn’t hate him..

Cloud was the first of the three cats to meet Tumbleweed since she is the most well adjusted.

She licked him clean, since he had never been taught how to do it himself.

He was like the son she never wanted.

Jeeves was next, and then came Chester, who was very freaked out of his new little brother at first and would growl and hiss.

It took a couple months before all three boys could be together without freaking out. And it happened on Christmas eve!  There were a couple random freak outs after that, but now all four cats are happily living together!

Tumbleweed was a great little surprise!

A Flower Cloud

Cloud sat posed next to the bouquet of flowers, with a look on her face like she demanded her photo be taken.

It’s good to stop and admire the flowers sometimes!

Panda, the Cat that Loved Halloween

Two Halloweens in a row, we were joined by a great cat named Panda.

As we gathered on the porch to wait for Trick-or-Treaters, Panda walked right up to join in the fun.  At one point, he snagged an entire mini doughnut off someone’s plate and ate it like a pig. What a great cat.

Sadly though, Panda and his family moved away last year.  I hope wherever he is, he will have a wonderful Halloween!

Chester Jeeves Day

It’s been six years since we brought these cool boys home!

Cloud had showed up just a few days before, so we went from zero to three cats all of a sudden.  At first it was overwhelming, but now it’s cat party every day!

Chester and Jeeves were rescued along with a bunch of other kittens from a feral cat colony. We didn’t get them until they were around 5-6 months old, so we only have a few pictures of them as kittens that their rescuer gave us. I sometimes wish we could have taken Jeeves’ favorite little grey brother too!

Cloud Day

October first is Cloud Day!  Six years ago she ran in our house and refused to leave. She decided it was her house!

She was just a sad starving little cat when she came here, but now she’s a happy, fluffy, very well fed cat who was happy to have an ice cream birthday toy!

She likes to bend her tail at weird angles. Not really sure how it works..

These are from when she first showed up. She did not like it when I put her back outside when she initially came in!

Cloud is a great cat!

Cat Photos Friday: Ghoul Kittens

My sister adopted two kittens that look like little skeleton ghouls!  This guy above is Kevin with the pants, and his sister pictured below is Maisie the party goblin.

They’re so cute and playful and friendly. It’s so much fun to go and visit them!  They are living at my Mom’s house with her three cats, so it’s a big cat party over there right now.

Cat Photos Friday: Cheese Pizza

Since many of Chester’s nicknames are cheese related, he thought it only made sense that he should be a cheese pizza.  Even if he was a bit too wide for the small size pizza box.

Cloud tried a taste of the cheese pizza.  Not what she expected.

Then she decided to try out being a pizza!
